Tate:
LGBTQ+ Icons

as Co-Producer

Acknowledging that Tate had previously not been a safe space for queer people, we sought to make a film with LGBTQ+ icons that presented alternative queer readings of art in the collection.

Often the interpretation in the gallery had excluded queer readings. By showcasing these three advocates speaking about the collection from a personal viewpoint, we wanted to show how queer audiences could resonate with the art and see Tate as a place they could belong.
