Soho Theatre:
Sessions

as Director / Producer / Editor

I had the privilege of adapting Ifeyinwa Frederick’s Sessions into film. The play was performed for a short time at Soho Theatre in late 2021. To make the play accessible to more audiences, I was asked to adapt the play into film.

Rather than filming play with a live audience, I chose to shoot the film scene by scene using a traditional film set up with multiple takes. This allowed us to get closer to the character and the action on stage. It also translated the play into a visual medium that audiences at home who maybe more familiar with cinema than theatre would find more enjoyable.
